Kenneth Klatka '69, G'70

- New Klatka's name is synonymous with Springfield College track & field

- As he is being inducted, he has been the SC head men's track & field coach for 35 years

- He has also been an associate professor of physical education since 1970

- "I came here as an undergrad in 1965, and so far have never left."

- He has been one of the most successful track & field coaches in the nation, winning at a 75 percent clip

- As a performer, he was captain of the SC cross country team in 1969 when he set several course records. He became an IC4A champion before going on to finish seventh at the nationals

- As a coach, he was named NCAA Division III Outdoor Regional Coach of the Year three times, the ECAC Division II Outdoor Coach of the Year four times, the NCAA Division II Indoor Coach of the Year one time, and the NEWMAC Coach of the Year twice, including just a few years ago (2010-2011)

- Served as the President of the Division III New England Track & Field Coaches Association on two separate occasions

- Has coached 65 All-Americans at Springfield College, including tree-time NCAA Champion Steve Headley '10 and one-time NCAA Champion Kevin Coyle '12

- Previously named to the Memorial High School Hall of Fame and to the Queen City Athletic Hall of Fame in his native Manchester, N.H.
