Springfield, Mass. - October 23, 2017 - Springfield College's Jordan Wilcox (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Football Offensive Performer of the Week as well as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III North Offensive Player of the Week following a standout performance on Saturday.
The Finance put together a dominant first half for Springfield as the senior fullback carried the ball 13 times for 212 yards while finding the end zone three times and he averaged just over 16 yards per carry. In the Pride's 68-20 win over Catholic, Wilcox did not see the field in the second half as the Pride churned out 457 yards of total offense, including 408 rushing yards in the opening 30 minutes. Springfield finished the game with 674 yards of offense, 625 of which came on the ground. Wilcox currently ranks fourth in the country in rushing yards (1,241) and total touchdowns (15).
This marks the second time this season that Wilcox has earned both conference and regional weekly honor for the top offensive player. Wilcox and the Pride are on a bye this week but will return to action on Saturday, November 4 when they play at Maine Maritime.
