Bainter Collects Preseason All-America Recognition From

Springfield, Mass. - August 1, 2018 - With the start of preseason football just over a week away, Springfield College's Nick Bainter (East Bridgewater, Mass.) was named to the 2018 Preseason All-America Third Team.

Previously chosen to Lindy's Preseason All-Division III Second Team, Bainter continued to garner national preseason attention heading heading into his junior campaign.  One of just three centers from the entire Division III landscape to be selected by, the Criminal Justice major was one of two student-athletes from New England to be recognized, joining Worcester State's Jacob Maher, who was a second-team honoree at tight end.

Last season, Bainter started all 11 games last season and helped direct one of the top offenses in all of college football.  A All-East Region Second-Team selection a season ago, he was a key component of an offense that produced to most rushing yards in college football, nearly 4,800 rushing yards, as the Pride averaged 435 yards per game on the ground.  Springfield would own the seventh-best scoring offense in the country (43.6 ppg), while their 19.15 passing yards per completion was the fourth highest in the nation.

Bainter and the Pride will open the season on Friday, August 31 when it hosts Western New England at 7 pm on Stagg Field in the annual Pynchon SAW game.
