Springfield, Mass. - May 5, 2019 - The Springfield College men's lacrosse team will hit the road to take on Ursinus in the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship Second Round on Wednesday, May 8.

The Pride, which is making its 12th-straight trip to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, won the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship on Saturday after besting Coast Guard, 12-10. Winners of six of their last seven outings, Springfield enters then national tournament with a 10-9 record.  In the win over Coast Guard, head coach Keith Bugbee, became just the fifth coach in the history of collegiate men's lacrosse to capture 400 victories, and the only to ever do it at just one institution.

This marks the first ever meeting between the two schools and Ursinus enters the game with a 13-3 record and is ranked 14th in the country in the most recent USILA Division III National Poll.  In the Centennial Conference Championship on Saturday, senior goalie Nick Kirk racked up a championship game-record 22 saves to lead the Bears to a 10-8 victory over 8th-ranked Gettysburg for its first CC title.

The winner of the Springfield/Ursinus game will square off against who prevails in the Cabrini/DeSales contest on Saturday, May 11 .
