Springfield, Mass. - May 29, 2019 - Springfield College's Cameron Glover (Brunswick, Maine) and Lucas Habich (Little Silver, N.J.) were selected to compete in the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) East-West Senior All-Star Game.
The game will take place at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, R.I. on Friday, May 31. Face-off will be at 6:00 pm and will feature the top graduating students from Divisions I, II, and III.
All players and coaches were nominated by the head coaches within the NEILA. Players were then ranked and selected by a committee awarding seniors from all three NCAA Divisions who played their college career in the New England region.
One of the Pride's captains this season, Glover played a significant role in the Pride earning a spot in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament field as Springfield earned an automatic bid into the national tournament after defeating Coast Guard, 12-10, in the NEWMAC Championship. A Physical Education major, Glover found the back of the cage 27 times and totaled 42 points, including producing at least three points in nine games in 2019. Thanks to his play in the NCAA Championship Second Round, where which he scored twice in the fourth quarter and netted the game-winner in overtime, the Pride knocked off 8th-ranked Ursinus, 16-15.
Habich had a tremendous senior season as he started in all 21 of Springfield's games and registered 68 points on 40 goals and 28 assists. The Little Silver, N.J. product tallied at least three points in 12 games, including at least four points in each the final five games of the season. The Psychology major finished his career with 141 points, including 86 goals and 55 helpers, and will play in his second senior all-star event as he previously suited up for the North squad at the USILA Senior All-Star game in Maryland on Friday, May 24.
