Men’s Swimming and Diving Knocks Off Holy Cross, 169-131

Worcester, Mass. – October 29, 2011 – The Springfield College men’s swimming and diving team opened up the season with a strong showing as it bested Holy Cross, 169-131, on Saturday afternoon.

Leading Springfield on the day was Kenny Pancoast, who swept the diving competition. Pancoast claimed the three-meter with a score of 283.96 before totaling 270.38 points for the win on the one-meter.

Jason Scotto was also double winner as he took first in the 200 free in 1:50.85 while also winning the 500 free in 5:08.10.

Other individual winners on the afternoon included Tim Ramos, who touched first in the 1,000 free in 10:44.83. Benjamin Ernst won the 200 fly in 2:10.85, while his brother Josh Ernst bested the competition in the 200 back with a time of 2:03.67.

Nolan Manley sprinted to a win in the 50 free in 23.03 and in his first collegiate meet, Hayden Cassidy won the 100 free in 52.37.
