Boston, Mass. - January 12, 2015 - Senior diver Jack Lewis (Durham, N.H.) and junior Michael Normoyle (Wilbraham, Mass.) were recognized by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Association (ECAC), as Lewis earned his sixth-straight conference and second Diver of the Week honor of the season, while Normoyle earned NEWMAC Men's Swimmer of the Week and ECAC Co-Swimmer of the Week honors after back-to-back impressive performances this past weekend.
Lewis, a Recreation Management major at Springfield, posted a second-place finish on the 3-meter board with a score of 267.45 before winning the 1-meter competition with a national-qualifying score of 306.01. On Sunday in a tri-meet with Union and Hartwick, Lewis swept both events as the senior registered a 305.78 on the 3-meter, before notching a 290.62 on the 1-meter, aiding the Pride to a win over Union College.
On Saturday against Middlebury, Normoyle took home first-place finishes in both the 50 and 100 Breast, as he raced to a time of 27.80 in the 50, before posting a 59.84 in the 100, good for the top spot On Sunday, Normoyle took first place in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:00.57, defeating John Enquist from Union and Brendan Day of Hartwick to claim the individual title. In the 200 Breast, Enquist and Normoyle would tie for first overall with a time of 2:13.93.
The men's swimming and diving program will return to action when it hosts NYU on Saturday, January 17 at 1 p.m.
