Boston, Mass. - February 2, 2015 - Senior diver Jack Lewis (Dover, N.H.) and junior Michael Normoyle (Wilbraham, Mass.) have been recognized by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) for their impressive performances this past weekend against Amherst College.
Lewis was named NEWMAC Men's Diver of the Week for the eighth time this season, while Normoyle was tabbed NEWMAC Men's Swimmer of the Week for his efforts. This marks the second time the junior has been selected for the honor.
Lewis, a Recreation Management major at Springfield, posted an impressive 283.88 on the one-meter board and a 296.40 on the three-meter board, both national qualifying scores, while Normoyle continued his impressive season as he presented a first place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 59.18, was the top swimmer for Springfield in the 100 Individual Medley and was runner-up in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 27.50. Normoyle also had a strong showing in the 200 Medley Relay as the group placed third.
The Pride will gear up in preparation for the NEWMAC Championships weekend beginning on Thursday, February 19 and lasting through Sunday, February 22.
