Men's Swimming and Diving Wraps Up Day Two of Ithaca Invitational

Ithaca, N.Y. - December 5, 2015 - The Springfield College men's swimming and diving team competed in the second day of the Ithaca Invitational A&E Center Aquatics Pavillion, as Springfield sits in 8th place with 315 points. 

In the pool, the Pride's Michael Normoyle (Springfield, Mass.) finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke, in an impressive time of 58.42. 

In the 200 free, Kent Parsons (Hamilton, Mass.) and Austin Von Heeringen (Germanstown, Md.) paced Springfield placing 13th and 16th with times of 1:47.59 and 1:47.78, respectively, while the 400 medley relay of Von Herringen, Normoyle, Parsons and Daniel Fay (Yorktown, N.Y.) touched the wall in 3:35.52. 
The meet continued with the 200 fly, as Springfield's Tim DeCoste (Greenville, RI) finished in a time of 2:06.20.  
In the 100 backstroke, Von Heeringen was the top finisher for the Pride in the time 54.03 and in 15th place, while Fay placed 21st in a time of 55.14. In the final event of the evening, the 800 free relay team of Normoyle, Fay, Von Heeringen, and Parsons touched the wall in 7:14.40. 
The Pride will close out the third and final day of the Ithaca Invitational tomorrow with events beginning at 10 am.
