Williams Bests Men's Swimming and Diving

Williamstown, Mass. - November 16, 2018 - The Springfield College men's swimming and diving program was bested by host Williams College, 180-101, on Friday evening.

In the latest College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Top 25 Poll, Williams checked in at No. 18 in the country.

On the three-meter board, Connor Pennington (Monson, Mass.) delivered a national-qualifying mark of 305.40 to win, and was also victorious on the one-meter after producing another national-qualifying score of 283.65. 

In the 200 medley relay, Sean Harnish (Middlebury, Conn.), Anthony Soares (Worcester, Mass.), Andy Endress (Belchertown, Mass.), and Erik Jensen (Hainesport, N.J.) completed the race in 1:44.21 to open the meet. 
In the 200 free, Jensen produced a 1:48.86 to finish in third, and later placed third in the 100 free after touching in 50.12.  Harnish placed third in the 100 back with a 56.80 and registered the fourth-best time of the 200 back with a 2:05.48.   In the 200 breast, Sean Mitchell (Canton, Mass.) notched a 2:29.35, while Michael Allo (Newington, Conn.) completed the 100 breast in 1:06.25 and concluded the 500 free in 5:22.63. 
Endress sprinted the 50 free in 24.05 and finished the 100 fly in 57.46, while Soares posted a 2:19.69 in the 200 IM.  In the final event of the evening, Mitchell, Jensen, Harnish, and Matt Winter (Suffield, Conn.) recorded a 3:26.61 in the 400 free relay. 
Springfield will hit the water again on Saturday when it hosts Keene State and Wheaton at 1 pm in the Linkletter Natatorium.
