Clark Leads Women’s Gymnastics Past RIC, 184.075 – 176.100

Springfield, Mass. – February 23, 2014 - The Springfield College women’s gymnastics team beat visiting Rhode Island College, 184.075 – 176.100 on Sunday in Blake Arena, led by Abby Clark (Holderness, N.H.) and Lauren Pocius (Wallingford, Conn.), who both had standout performances.

Clark won the vault, beam, floor and the all-around competition. She won the all-around with a score of 37.550.

The Pride opened the day sweeping the top five spots on the vault. Clark won the event with a score of 9.625, Pocius took second (9.525), Nicole Silva (Barrington, R.I.) finished third (9.450), while Jenna Croteau (North Kingstown, R.I.) (9.250) and Rachel Mattison (Andover, Mass.) (9.175) rounded out the top five.

Pocius won the bars with a score of 9.475, while Clark took third in the event with a mark of 9.175.

On the beam, Springfield took the top two spots, as Clark posted a winning score of 9.325. Nicole Caradona (Lynnfield, Mass.) was second with a mark of 9.250.

On the floor Clark posted a winning score 9.425 while Croteau finished second with a 9.200 and Silva took third with a 9.175.
