Springfield, Mass. - March 20, 2018 - The Springfield College women's tennis team continued its early momentum this spring season with a 6-3 victory over Eastern Nazarene on Tuesday afternoon.

The Pride, fresh off three wins last week in Florida, improved to 5-2 win the victory on Tuesday in its first home match of the 2018 campaign.

Springfield couldn't have asked for a better start as it earned points in all three doubles matches to take a commanding 3-0 lead.  At the No. 3 spot, Rachel Litchfield (Northridge, Mass.) and Rachel Ahlmeyer (Morris Plains, N.J.) cruised to an 8-0 win, while Springfield's top team of Emily Etter (Guilford, Conn.) and Cara Freadman (Richmond, Mass.) delivered a 8-3 victory.  At No. 2, Melissa Parrish (Framingham, Mass.) and Addie Kendall (Lakeville, Mass.) grinded out a 9-7 win to close out doubles action.

Parrish breezed her way to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5, and Ahlmeyer clinched the match after producing a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at No. 6.  Kendall would later register Springfield's final point of the afternoon with a 7-5, 6-4 victory at No. 4.

The Pride will now have a week to prepare for its New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opener when it hosts Smith on March 27.
