New Haven, Conn. - May 11, 2019 - The Springfield College women's track and field team had student-athletes compete among the region's top competition at the NEICAAA All New England Championships, hosted at Southern Connecticut State University on Friday and Saturday.
Springfield College had a pair of student-athletes put forth impressive performances in the field events on Friday afternoon, as Carley Moyher (Killingworth, Conn.), who came into the weekend ranked No. 8 in all of Division III in the javelin throw, took fourth overall with a mark of 41.18 meters to earn All New England honors. Senior Sam Liberty (Pascoag, R.I.) took 11th overall with a mark of 36.64 meters.
Competing in the 400 meter dash, senior Tiffany Tenney (Orange, Mass.) took 13th with a time of 58.07 seconds, while in the 100 meter hurdles, Katherine Strain (Longmeadow, Mass.) produced a time of 15.65 seconds.
In the women's high jump, Caroline Hitchcock (Agawam, Mass.), who was No. 21 in all of Division III coming into the weekend, finished in a tie for sixth overall, as she cleared 1.63 meters. Taylor Nogiec (Berlin, Conn.) also finished the event in 10th overall, clearing 1.58 meters.
