Lexington, Ky. - July 24, 2019 - The Springfield College women's volleyball team was one of 175 programs throughout Division III to be recognized with the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. This marks the eighth-straight season that the Pride has been recognized for its academic achievements.
The award recognizes those programs maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale. This academic year, Springfield's women's volleyball student-athletes combined to produce a 3.427 GPA.
A total of 505 collegiate women's volleyball programs spanning Divisions I, II, and II received the honor and Springfield was one of three teams from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) to earn the team academic honor.
The Pride will begin the 2019 campaign on August 30 when it hosts the Springfield College Invitational beginning with Montclair State at 7:30 pm.
