Springfield, Mass. - September 3, 2019 - Following an impressive opening weekend for the Springfield College women's volleyball program, Camryn Bancroft (Eastport, N.Y.) was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week.
Bancroft had a strong start to her junior season as she led Springfield to three victories and was named the MVP of the Springfield College Invitational for the second-straight season. The Physical Education major averaged 3.82 kills per set at an impressive .486 hitting percentage to go along with 16 total blocks, averaging 1.45 per set. After opening the season with 11 kills and three blocks in a sweep of Montclair State, Bancroft erupted for 18 kills and seven blocks against Westfield State, and concluded the weekend hitting .800 with 13 kills versus Brandeis.
The Pride will return to action on Friday when it competes in the NYU Invitational.
