Springfield, Mass. - September 10, 2019 - For the second-consecutive week, Springfield College's Camryn Bancroft (Eastport, N.Y.) was selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week.
Bancroft continued to put up impressive numbers in the middle for Springfield as it went 2-1 at the NYU Invitational over the weekend. In three matches, the Physical Education major totaled 47 kills at a .416 clip, averaging 3.36 per set. She was equally impressive with her blocks, posting 17 and averaging 1.21 per set en route to 4.1 points per set for the Pride. She had at least 14 kills in every match, highlighted by an 18-kill performance in a win over Skidmore. She also posted 14 kills and eight blocks versus Stockton and 15 kills and seven blocks in handing NYU its first loss of the season. Through the first two weeks of the season, Bancroft leads the conference in both hitting percentage (.447) and blocks per set (1.32).
In the midst of an eight-match roadtrip, Springfield will return to New York on Wednesday to battle Union at 7 pm.
