Rachel Vinton of the women's basketball program has been named the Springfield College Maroon Club Student-Athlete of the Week.
The graduate student had an impressive last two outings for the Pride and averaged 17.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 8.0 assists, and 3.0 steals per game. In being named the MVP of the Hampton Inn West Springfield/Naismith Classic, she tallied 11 assists, eight points, six boards, and three steals in a win over Roger Williams on Monday. On Saturday, the point guard turned in the best game of her career in a double overtime setback to nationally-ranked Smith where she posted 27 points, 14 rebounds, including 12 on the defensive glass, to go along with three steals and two blocks.
