Springfield, Mass. – October 10, 2008 – Andrew Constant cruised at No. 1 singles and picked up a win with teammate Bobby Schlink in No. 1 doubles to lead the Springfield College men’s tennis team to a 7-2 win over cross-town rival Western New England on Friday afternoon at Appleton Courts.
Constant picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win over Alex Boutin at No. 1 singles after he and Schlink won 8-3 in doubles over Boutin and Brian Relihan.
Tim Tunis won at No. 3 singles by rallying after dropping the first set en route to a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory. At No. 4 singles, Mike McGee won 7-5, 6-3, while Eric Henne was victorious at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-3. John Schrank closed out the Pride’s victory at No. 6 singles with a 7-5, 0-6, 6-1 win.
The Pride return to action on Wednesday when it travels to take on Nichols at 3:30 pm.
