Babson Park, Mass. – October 14, 2008 The Springfield College women’s volleyball team remained perfect in league play as it downed Babson College in four games on the road Tuesday evening in New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play. With its eighth-straight victory, the Pride now stand at 22-4, 6-0 in conference action on the year.
The Pride dropped the opening set 26-24, but went on to take the next three games, 25-20, 25-19, 25-15.
Leading the way for the Pride was Heather Lively, as the sophomore outside notched a team-best 18 kills in the victory. Bethany Stosz added 12 kills in the victory, eight of which came in the third game. On the defensive side of the ball, Heidi Yohe registered 14 digs, while classmate Aylene Ilkson recorded 12.
Springfield will now rest up as it has a week off of matches until next Tuesday evening when it hosts Smith at 7:00 pm.
