Cambridge, Mass. – The Springfield College women’s swimming and diving team continued to roll as it competed against conference-foes Coast Guard and MIT on Sunday afternoon.
Springfield defeated both NEWMAC rivals in impressive fashion, completing a solid weekend in which the Pride also defeated NYU. The Pride defeated MIT, 157-143. SC also defeated Coast Guard, 201-98.
On Sunday, Aimee Doe won the 200 free in 1:59.43, just out touching teammate Kaitlin Reilly, who finished in 2:00.51. Reilly finished second in two other events in the meet as she touched in 55.33 in the 100 free and the 100 fly in 1:02.19. Moira Price took first in three events on the day as she won the 100 breast in 1:10.1, the 50 free in 25.05, and the 200 breast in 2:31.97.
The Pride’s 400 free relay team of Price, Kallie Pottle, Doe, and Reilly finished first with a time of 3:39.34.
Michelle Reggio led the Springfield diving corps, which continued its impressive season on the diving boards as they swept the competition. On the one-meter, the Pride took the top four spots, as Reggio took first (261.66), Meghan Kijanka finished second (239.46), followed by Courtney Keefe (236.25), and Jani Springer (213.90).
The same top three spots held in the three meter as Reggio, Kijanka, and Keefe went 1-2-3. Reggio scored a 261.98, while Kijanka finished with a mark of 253.12 and Keefe with a 245.47.
