Northampton, Mass. - September 25, 2014 - The Springfield College women's volleyball team cruised to a three-set victory at Smith College on Thursday evening in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play.  The Pride won by the scores of 25-18, 25-17, 25-9.

With the win, Springfield improves to 8-4, 2-2 in league play, while Smith falls to 6-8, 1-3.

Marnae Mawdsley (Bolton, Conn.) directed the Springfield offense as she delivered 37 assists to go along with 10 digs and three aces.  Kelsey McGayhey (Shelter Island, N.Y.) led all players with 12 kills, hitting at a .455 clip, while Francesca Mack (Amston, Conn.) chipped in nine kills.  Meghan Kinee (Williamstown, N.J.) was credited with 16 digs, and Lauren Holt (Granby, Conn.) posted eight kills and five blocks.

Springfield finished the evening hitting .276 and totaled 10 service aces on the evening.  Springfield hit over .300 in two of the three sets, including posting a .370 clip in the third set.

Springfield will play its third league match of the week on Saturday when it hosts Emerson in Blake Arena at 1:00 pm.
