Men's Tennis Topples St. Scholastica, 6-3

Orlando, Fla. - March 13, 2018 - The Springfield College men's tennis team put together another strong outing as it toppled St. Scholastica by a 6-3 decision in its second match of its spring break trip to Florida on Tuesday.

The Pride was only able to take one point in double action, with Alex Romaine (Stamford, Conn.) and Court Honda (Marioka, Japan) delivering an 8-4 decision at the top spot. 

Springfield was then dominant in singles play as it picked up five of the six victories en route to a 6-3 decision over the Saints. Cameron Grant (Babylon, N.Y.) was the first off the court for the Pride with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3, before Romaine produced a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 1.  Chris Unger (Westfield, Mass.) added to the Pride's efforts with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4, and Zack Keene (Agawam, Mass.) clinched the win after a 7-6, 6-0 win at the fourth position.  Freddie Moffa (Granby, Conn.) chipped in the final victory of the day for Springfield at No. 6 with a 6-3, 6-0 triumph. 

The Pride will continue its play in Florida on Thursday morning versus Dickinson at 10 am.
