2018: Played in all 11 games this season, recording a career and team-high 82 total tackles which was the third most for a defensive end in Division III football this year. He finished this season with a season high 14 sacks and will graduate as Springfield's all-time leader in career sacks (29.5) and tackles-for-loss (70.5). Academically, Giorgio has shined as well as a two-time CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District Team selection, and was one of four Gagliardi semifinalists to earn that academic distinction. Giorgio is the only student-athlete from New England to be a 2018 Gagliardi Trophy semifinalist. Giorgio also earned AFCA and AP First team honors, won NEWMAC defensive conference athlete of the year, and Academic All Conference team honors.
2017: Played in all 11 games, recording a team-high 65 total tackles, a NEWMAC-high 10.5 sacks, and a team-high 26 tackles for loss...Forced four fumbles...named a national finalist for Cliff Harris Award...Selected to AFCA Division III Coaches All-America Team...Named to the ECAC Division III Football All-Region Team...Selected as NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Year...Named to College Sports Information Directors Association of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District team.
2016: First Team All-Liberty League selection and ECAC North All-Star First Team honoree… recorded 60 tackles and 17 tackles for loss totaling 56 yards, including four sacks… also had a forced fumble and fumble recovery… made nine tackles against both Western New England and Mount Ida… had seven tackles, including three for loss, at St. Lawrence… notched five stops, two for loss, and forced a fumble versus RPI.
2015: Appeared in five games as a freshman... made 11 tackles on the year... posted seven tackles, including five solo stops and a sack at Rennselaer (11/7).
High School: Played linebacker for four years while earning three letters at Cumberland High School under the direction of Coach Josh Lima... Also was a member of the wrestling team.
Personal: Son of Kerri and Dino Giorgio... Majoring in Business Management.
