ON THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE
Current Head Coach for United State Men’s National Under-19 Team (2021-Present)

2024 - Head Coach of USA U19 Team - Gold medal, undefeated in the tournament, NORCECA in Puerto Rico, Qualified for World Championship
2023 - 4th Place finish at World Championship in San Juan, Argentina. Highest finish ever for a U19 team from USA Volleyball. Defeated #1 seed Bulgaria in Quater Finals. 
2022 - Norceca Regional Qualifier. Guatemala. Undefeated Gold medal finish to qualify for World Championship. 
2021 – First Division III coach to be named head coach of United States Men’s National Under-19 Team. Coach Sullivan runs the National Team Development Program (NTDP) training camps in fall, winter & spring.
2016 – Sullivan and USA Men’s Volleyball defeated Russia to win Bronze at 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil. Sullivan served as a scout coach throughout the Olympics, World Championships and World Cup that year
2014 – Sullivan guided the U.S. Men's Pan American Team to the silver medal of the IX Men's Pan American Cup, the NORCECA region qualifier for the annual World League competition. 
2013 – Led 12 Springfield College student-athletes at the World University Games in Kazan, Russia as they represented the United States of America.
2008 – Sullivan was also named the head coach for the 2008 USA Select A1 Camp and Competition, which consists of 40 of the top 15 and 16 year olds in the country.
2007 – Rejoined the U.S. National Team as an assistant coach as the squad traveled to Japan for the 2007 FIVB World Cup.
2005 – Sullivan coached with Feffe DeGiorgi and the Marcerata Volleyball Club, a top professional league in Italy.
2001 – Sullivan was selected by USA Athletes International to coach a United States team that traveled to Darwin, Australia, to compete in the Arafura Games. After falling in the Gold Medal round, the team won the Bronze Medal match against the South Australian Adelaide team.

OFF THE COURT
Sullivan was named to the Volleyball Hall of Fame Board of Directors in 1999 and has participated in the NCAA “Youth Education Through Sports” (YES) Clinics held in conjunction with NCAA Men’s Volleyball Championships.

He is the founder and director of the Springfield Boys' Volleyball School as well the director of Systematic Training, a unique volleyball experience that combines a coaching and players clinic.

BEFORE SPRINGFIELD

In 1998, Sullivan became the head coach at Marycrest International University in Davenport, Iowa, and was instrumental in the development of the first National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Men’s Volleyball Championship that was held at Marycrest. During that year, Sullivan headed the NAIA National Championship committee and chaired the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) Conference.

EDUCATION

Sullivan earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Springfield College in 1991 and his master’s degree in physical education from Springfield in 1997.
