Coach Bill Moore has served as a part-time assistant on the Springfield College staff on multiple occasions over the last four decades.
While working with the offensive line since 2023, Coach Moore has helped several players achieve all conference, all region and All American honors, while helping the unit to multiple national rushing yardage titles and NCAA playoff appearances.
As Inside Linebackers Coach during the 2014-2018 seasons, and again in 2022, Moore coached all conference players in 2017, 2018, 2022. As Offensive Line Coach from 1998-2000 Moore coached two Division III All-Americans (John Cena and Matt Sallila) and multiple conference and regional award winners. During that time, Springfield made their first NCAA Division III playoffs in school history (1998), and became the first team from New England to reach the NCAA Quarterfinals (2000) as the offense set an NCAA all-time, all-divisions, rushing yardage record. Moore worked with the offensive and defensive lines as a graduate assistant from 1994-1995.
Coach Moore served as the head coach of Westfield High School (MA) for a dozen years. In that time the team rose from the bottom of the state and regional rankings to earning two Western Mass Division 1AA titles and post-season appearances in 2007, 2008, and 2013. In that final 2013 season, his team earned both district and state level Sportsmanship Awards.
As a player, Moore was a four-year starter at center and guard at the University of New Hampshire, and was a member of the 1991 Yankee Conference Championship team.
He has been an assistant coach at Agawam High School, Maine Central Institute, and Princeton University. In 2001, he served as offensive coordinator at Western New England University, leading his unit to single game rushing, total offense, and scoring records while he also coached one All-American.
Moore has been a high school Social Studies teacher for 30 years. He was listed as a member of the Springfield College Faculty as an Associate Practitioner from 2003-2009. In 2013, Coach Moore wrote and published a book, On Character and Mental Toughness and presented The Character Way program to athletic departments and coaching organizations across the northeast.
