Director of Athletics, Dr. Craig Poisson, is pleased to announce today that Jim Kelley '13 has been named as the Director of Operations for the Springfield College Department of Athletics.
"I would like to thank Dr. Poisson and the rest of the search committee for the opportunity to return to Springfield College and join such a dynamic and exceptional athletic department," said Kelley. "So much of who I am as both a person and a professional are a direct product of my time on Alden Street and I look forward to working with the teacher coaches and administrative team to provide the highest-quality experience to our student-athletes."
Kelley, who graduated from Springfield College in 2013 with his degree in communications and sport journalism, brings a lot of experience in his field having previously served as the Director of Student Activities at the Hampshire Regional School District, as Assistant Director of Athletics and Athletic Equipment Manager at the Brooks School and as a communications assistant at The Rivers School.
"Throughout the interview process, Jim articulated the important role that this position plays in servicing our student-athletes so that they can thrive in their respective sports," said Poisson. "I look forward to seeing his impact on the student-athlete experience here on Alden Street."
Kelley and his family are no strangers to Springfield College as his father played varsity soccer on Alden Street as a member of the class of 1978 and his wife Paige earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees, in 2014 and 2016, respectfully, at Springfield.
