Kevin Wood will enter his eighth year as an Associate Director of Athletics and the Scheduling Coordinator at Springfield College during the 2025-26 academic year. At Springfield, Wood oversees the scheduling of intercollegiate contests, event management (officials, travel arrangements, lodging, budgeting), marketing and promotions, student-employment, and serves as a liaison to public safety, student affairs, and media relations among other departments. Wood also oversees the athletic department store, directs selected tournament and has a role in the supervision of personnel.
When hired in the summer of 2015, Wood had the unique opportunity to take over for his former supervisor, as Director of Athletics at Springfield College, Dr. Craig Poisson had spent the previous 19 years in an associate and senior associate capacity at Springfield College. Poisson mentored Wood as a graduate assistant in the athletic department from 2004-06.
Wood graduated from Springfield College in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management before returning to his alma mater to earn his Master of Science in Physical Education in 2006. As an undergraduate, Wood worked as a student worker with contest management and sports communications, while his time as a graduate student allowed him to learn under Poisson as he supervised club sports and merchandise sales, and assisted with contest management. His time was highlighted by his coordination of the 2006 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Final Four and NCAA Division III New England Cross Country Regional.
Since 2007, Wood has served as the Director of Athletic Operations at Bloomsburg University, where he directed all components of contest management and facility operations for the Division II program. In addition to serving as the tournament director for numerous NCAA Championships, including both the 2008 and 2011 NCAA Division II Field Hockey National Championship, Wood produced and prepared all facility, practice, and competition schedules for Bloomsburg's 20 athletic teams. Wood also coordinated the student employment program, provided support services to all sports, and managed three major facility enhancement projects, totaling close to $14 million dollars. Additionally, he was the director of camps and clinics, oversaw all aspects of daily operation of the Nelson Field House, and actively served on campus, conference, and NCAA committees.
Prior to Bloomsburg, Wood was the athletic operations assistant at the University of Pennsylvania, where he coordinated events such as the 2007 NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship as well as the Penn Relays. He also gained extensive experience during a two-year internship at Yale University, where he served as Event Manager for varsity sports, planned and implemented various marketing and promotion initiatives, and helped administer the 2004 NCAA Women's Ice Hockey Frozen Four, the NCAA Men's Golf Regional Championship, and the Yale Golf Classic.
