Mike Cerasuolo ’93 will enter his tenth season as the head coach of the Springfield College football program during the 2025-26 academic year. Cerasuolo was named the 14th head football coach in the program’s history in January of 2016, and became just the fifth head football coach at Springfield College in the last 70 years.

In 2024 Cerasuolo led Springfield to its fourth-straight NEWMAC title with the Pride producing a nation-best 427.5 rushing yards per game propelling them into the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament Quarterfinal. Cerasuolo was named the inaugural Associated Press Division III National Coach of the Year.

The 2023 campaign saw Springfield produce a nation-best 380 rushing yards per game en route to its third-straight NEWMAC title, as Cerasuolo and his staff were named NEWMAC Coaching Staff of the Year.

In his second season at the helm, Cerasuolo put together a historic 2019 campaign, as Springfield rattled off a 10-0 regular-season record en route to claiming the inaugural NEWMAC Championship. The NEWMAC and The Gridiron Club of Greater Boston Division II/III New England Coach of the Year, Cerasuolo guided a Springfield team that led all of college football in rushing with just over 435 yards per game.

Cerasuolo is no stranger to the Springfield College football program, as prior to becoming the head coach, he spent 15 years as the offensive coordinator for the Pride. With Cerasuolo devising the game plans, the Pride has established itself as one of the premier rushing offenses in Division III football, as Springfield College had won five national rushing titles with him as the offensive coordinator.

A sought-after clinician, Cerasuolo has also done great work off the field for the football program, as under his leadership, the Pride has become heavily involved with Team IMPACT and has had three members of the football program be marrow donors through the Be The Match program.

A native of Northboro, Mass., Cerasuolo was the offensive coordinator at Division II Mansfield during the 2000 season. Prior to Mansfield, Cerasuolo held offensive coordinator positions at Mansfield, Alfred, Lebanon Valley, and SUNY Cortland, and was the offensive line and tight ends coach at the University of Maine, while also coaching the defensive line at Ithaca.

A standout student-athlete for Springfield College from 1989-1993, Cerasuolo was named Springfield College’s most valuable offensive player during his senior year, as the center was a two-time Division II All-New England selection, and a 1992 Associated Press and New England College Football Writers’ Association All-Star. After earning his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Springfield College, Cerasuolo went on to receive his master’s degree in sport pedagogy from Ithaca in 1995.

Mike and his wife, Tracy, reside in Hampden, Mass. with their two daughters.
