Sam Nelson returns to Springfield College football program as a graduate assistant for the 2024-25 campaign. A native of Latham, N.Y., Nelson is working on his Master’s degree in Athletic Leadership. 

As a student-athlete at Springfield College, Nelson was a part of the 2021 NEWMAC championship football team. After earning a degree in Elementary Education and Mathematics Computer Technology Education from Springfield, Nelson joined the National Arena League Albany Empire as an offensive assistant coach, later coaching at Bridgeton Academy as an offensive line coach and Union College as a tight end and running backs coach.
