Williams Topples Women's Swimming and Diving, 196-95

Williamstown, Mass. – January 22, 2011 – The Springfield College womenÂ's swimming and diving team was defeated by the host Williams College Ephs this afternoon by the score of 196-95.

Freshman Kellie Pennington continued to swim well for the Pride, leading the visitors with second-place finishes in the 100 yard breast stroke and 100 yard freestyle events. In the 100 yard breast stroke, Pennington finished with a time of 1:09.87. In the 100 yard free, she clocked in at 0:53.57.

In diving, Jennifer Thompson and Courtney Keefe took second and third place, respectively, in the one-meter event. Thompson scored 254.40 while Keefe earned a 246.45.

As for the Pride’s relays, the 200 free relay team of Pennington, Jaclyn Van Waalwijk, Caroline Kosciusko, and Kaitlin Reilly finished second in 1:40.37.

The Pride will be back in action on February 5, when they will host Amherst at 1:00 pm in Art Linkletter Natatorium.
