In the second, it was Springfield that was hampered by attack errors, committing five in the early going to trail 14-12. The Pride went to Smolinski, who ripped a kill off the block for the two-point set win.

The visitors dictated the third set from the onset, snagging a 9-5 advantage following a solo stuff from Dana Vosilla. New Paltz increased its lead to five at 12-7, but Springfield battled back to 12-10 after two straight Runge aces. New Paltz didnÂ't let up, storming out to a 6-1 lead in the fourth.
