Amherst, Mass. – February 5, 2012 – The Springfield College women’s swimming and diving team concluded its regular season on Sunday afternoon as it dropped a 180-111 decision to Amherst College.
Jennifer Thompson produced a record-breaking performance on the one-meter board she set a facility record with a 284.85.
In the 100 breast, Kellie Pennington swam a time of 1:08.27 to finish as the events runner up. Teammate Caroline Kosciusko placed right behind her in 1:11.52.
Kelsey Poole finished third in the 100 free with a time of 56.04, while Mary Masayda also finished in third in the 50 free after touching 25.61. Breonna Harrington took third place as well in the 100 back after touching in 1:05.54.
Springfield will now prepare for the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships which takes place February 17-19 hosted at MIT.
