This win for the Pride also marks the fourth-straight opponent that Springfield has held below the 50-point threshold.

Springfield, who entered the game No. 9 in the country in field-goal percentage defense, allowing opponents to shoot only 31.5 percent from the field, held the Cougars to just 15-of-57 (26.3%) on the evening, while the Pride shot 18-of-51 (35.3%) from the field in the victory.

Bickelhaupt was impressive in the first half, totaling 11 points and six boards in the opening stanza. A steal and layup from Dina Pitsas (Milford, N.H.) in the waning seconds to even the score at 25-25 going into halftime.

When Clark's Sami Dokus (Littleton, Mass.) drilled a three-pointer a few minutes later the Cougars went ahead again, this time at 37-35. That lead proved to be short lived, however, as Springfield quickly embarked on a 14-1 run that saw Heather King(Lebanon, N.H.) score seven straight points and when the smoke cleared, the Pride was looking at a double-digit lead for the first time at 49-38.

Clark would get as close as seven at 53-46 on another Dokus three-pointer, but Springfield managed to hold on for the win. The Pride held a 44-40 edge on the glass and with the help of King (nine points in ten minutes), outscored the Scarlet and White reserves, 19-7.
