Springfield, Mass. - September 22, 2015 - Behind goals from freshman Amanda Wright (Pittsfield, Mass.) and senior forward Nicole Fowler (Hudson, Mass.) the Springfield College women's soccer team picked up a non-conference victory over Endicott College, 2-1, on Tuesday night at Brock-Affleck Field.

With the win, Springfield, which was ranked No. 6 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Regional Rankings, improves to 5-1-1 on the season, while the Gulls drop to 2-5 overall.

Sophomore goalkeeper Ciara Boucher (Manchester, Conn.) continued to shine in between the pipes for Springfield, as she picked up her fifth win of the season, making three stops, while her counterpart, Caroline Armbruster (Stowe, Vt.) finished with seven saves of her own. Springfield finished the contest with an 18-7 advantage in shots, and a 4-0 margin in corner kicks.

Wright was able to find the back of the net off for the first time in her career off of a great play on the wing by Kim Quiles (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), who crossed the ball into the box, before it was knocked down by sophomore Dakota Kelly (Bethany, Conn.), and redirected to Wright, who blasted a shot over the hands of a diving Armbruster and underneath the crossbar to give the Pride a 1-0 edge.

Springfield came out of the halftime break flying, as a series of chances was finally finished by Fowler, who took the ball on the left side and struck a shot from well outside the box that found the inside of the right post and the back of the net to extend the Pride's lead to two.

Endicott was able to cut its deficit in half in the late stages of the contest, when Brady Sezon (Easton, Conn.) got open in the middle and drilled a shot past Boucher to make it 2-1, Springfield, with 5:23 remaining in the contest.

Up next, Springfield will travel to Cambridge, Mass. to take on MIT for a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contest at 5 p.m.
