WPI took an 11-point lead midway through the third quarter when Tess Nogueira (Merrimack, Mass.) drilled a pair of free-throws, but the Pride would then cut its deficit back to eight when Adamopoulos converted a lay-up, making it 42-34, Engineers, heading into the final quarter.

A jumper from Carli Brent with 6:29 would make it a six-point game, but Biney would drop consecutive baskets to help WPI retain its eight-point lead, but Springfield kept battling, as Lewis nailed a jumper with 3:41 to go to keep the Pride within six. A triple from Lewis with 47 seconds on the clock cut Springfield's deficit to five, but the Engineers finished the contest with four-straight free throws to seal the 59-50 win.
