Box Score 2 Boston, Mass. - October 8, 2022- The Springfield College women's volleyball team produced three-set sweeps over Roger Williams and UMass Boston on Saturday to improve to 12-4 on the season.
Springfield will host Mount Holyoke next Tuesday in a conference meeting.

Springfield 3, Roger Williams 0 (25-8, 25-15, 25-22)
15 student-athletes saw the court for the Pride as it hit .307 in the non-conference victory. Maeve Voltz (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and Jamie Albrecht (Selden, N.Y.) each contributed eight kills and Natalie Billet (Commack, N.Y.) was credited with seven digs. Voltz tallied four blocks, as did Megan Kirtyan (Massapequa Park, N.Y.), who also dished out 24 helpers. For the game, Roger Williams was held to a .000 team hitting percentage.
Kirtyan ripped three-straight aces to force Roger Williams into a timeout at 8-2 in the first and would later pour on a 7-0 surge to push Springfield's lead to 19-5. Voltz accounted for kills on all five of her swings in the set to lead the Pride to the 25-8 win.
Holding onto an 8-5 lead in the second, Springfield used an 8-1 burst capped off by a kill from Kirtyan to go up 16-6. Springfield would account for 14 kills in the stanza, with Emily Keaveney (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) notching four kills in the 25-15 victory.
In the third, the teams were knotted at 21-21, the fifth tie of the frame, only to have the Hawks committ three attack errors and Billet rip and ace en route to the 25-22 win.
Springfield 3, UMass Boston 0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-10)
Springfield's offense was impressive as it hit at a .346 clip in the triumph, as Natalie Billet (Commack, N.Y.) buried 12 kills on a .500 hitting percentage and Riley Donahue (South Windsor, Conn.) added 11 kills on the outside. Ally Townsend (Hummelstown, Pa.) was sensational on the defensive end, racking up 26 digs in just three sets, and Megan Kirtyan (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) handed out 25 assists.
Donahue got things going early in the first set, ripping five kills in the first eight points as the Pride jumped out to a 7-1 cushion. Springfield's advantage grew to 16-7 when Olivia Gentry (Loveland, Ohio) converted in the middle, before Donahue's seventh kill of the frame completed the 25-17 win.
A 10-4 burst by the Pride allowed the Pride to take an 11-8 lead following a kill from Billet. Behind six kills from Billet in the set, Springfield would be in control throughout and scored the final five points to deliver another 25-17 win, as the sophomore closed for a stuff block on set point.
Seven different players recorded at least one kill in the third and Springfield stormed out to an 8-1 advantage. UMass Boston would burn its final timeout of the match at 13-4 following another Billet kill and Townsend capped off the impressive Saturday with the Pride's sixth ace of the set to complete the sweep.
