Orlando, Fla. - March 17, 2022 - The Springfield College men's tennis team concluded its Spring Break trip with its third-consecutive victory as it clipped St. Scholastica, 5-4, on Thursday.
The Pride earned a pair of points in doubles play, beginning with an 8-4 victory at No. 3 by Sichen Ni (Hefei, Anhui, China) and James Foley (Fair Haven, N.J.). Mike Kendrick (Watervliet, N.Y.) and Zachary Taub (New Windsor, N.Y.) continued their winning ways at No. 2, picking up the 8-4 victory.
After St. Scholastica earned wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles to take a 3-2 lead, Kendrick responded with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 3 to knot the match up. Ni prevailed by a 7-5, 6-2 decision at No. 4 before Lucas Van Deventer (Ellington, Conn.) clinched the win for the Pride for the second-straight day with a 6-4, 6-7, 10-6 win at No. 6.
Springfield is scheduled next to host Connecticut College next Wednesday.
