Wellesley, Mass. - April 30, 2024 – The No. 3 seed Wellesley College women's tennis defeated No. 6 seed Springfield College 5-0 in the 2024 NEWMAC Women's Tennis Championships First Round on Tuesday at The Amy Batchelor '88, Trustee, Tennis Courts.
Wellesley picked up all three doubles points, with the Pride's top unit of
Ramida Manataweewat (Thailand, Bangkok) and
Kapom Vettayawaikoon (Phuket, Thailand).battling in an 8-4 setback.
The Blue picked up their fourth point before singles started when Springfield had a player retire and clinched the match with a straight-set win at the No. 5 spot.
