Babson Sweeps Women's Volleyball in Final Match of the Regular Season

Springfield, Mass. - November 8, 2025 - The Springfield College women's volleyball team was defeated by Babson, 3-0, its final New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match of the regular season. Babson won by scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-22.

Babson improved to 20-6 overall and 10-1 in the NEWMAC while Springfield fell 22-6, 9-2. Babson entered today's match 31st in the NCAA Power Index rankings, while Springfield was 34th.

Prior to the start of today's match, Springfield honored its three seniors in Megan Kirtyan (Massapequa Park, N.Y.), Emily Keaveney (Massapequa Park, N.Y.), and Aurissa Boardman (Brooklyn, Conn.). 

Keaveney led the Pride after notching a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs while Ahunna James (Plainville, Mass.) added eight kills. Tori Colosimo (Fairport, N.Y.) also registered a double-double with 29 assists and 11 digs. 

In the first set, the Pride had their only lead of the game at 3-2 behind back-to-back service aces from Keaveney. The Beavers then went on an 8-2 run and didn't look back. Springfield looked to gain some momentum at the end of the set behind a kill from Keaveney and blocks from James and Aubrey Hughes (Liberty Hill, Texas), but it wasn't enough as Babson won the first, 25-20.

It was a back-and-forth second set between Springfield and Babson with the Pride taking a 15-14 lead after a service ace from Delaney McGee (Holden, Mass.). McGee began the set with three straight aces tying the score at five at the time. The Beavers then quickly changed the lead and went on a 12-3 run to win the set, 25-17.

The Pride took an early lead in the third set after going on a 5-0 run to make it 7-3 behind three kills from Jodi Saelua (Mililani, Hawaii). After some back-and-forth, Babson also had a 5-0 run to tie it at 11. Springfield led 20-19 before Babson came back and a service ace from Misaki Harte finished it for the Beavers, 25-22, and the match, 3-0.

Springfield will host Emerson College in the NEWMAC Championship Tournament Quarterfinals on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm in Blake Arena.
