Springfield, Mass. – December 18, 2025 – After earning a spot on the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III All-America Second Team, Springfield College junior defensive lineman
Tyler Sordillo (Hull, Mass.) was named a Third Team All-American by the Associated Press (AP) on Thursday.
Sordillo is the eighth AP All-American for the Pride since 2015 joining
Arsen Shtefan (2024), Lou Cocozza (2021 & 2022), Christian Hutra (2022), Nick Giorgio (2018), Jordan Wilcox (2017) and Max Nacewicz (2015).
Sordillo led the Springfield defense to one of its most dominant seasons in program history. Individually, he registered 11.5 sacks, 14.0 tackles for a loss and 56 total tackles, while as a team Springfield ranked among the best in Division III allowing just 13.3 points per game, 216.3 total yards per game and 71.3 rushing yards per game. Earlier this season, Sordillo was recognized as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Defensive Player of the Year.
Sordillo and the Pride won their fifth consecutive NEWMAC Championship title and appeared in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament after defeating Cortland at home in the first round, 21-7.
