Springfield, Mass. – February 14, 2025 – The Springfield College wrestling team capped its dual meet season with a 32-14 win over WPI on Friday evening in the Field House. 

Springfield finishes the season with a 12-5 record in dual meets and will next compete on February 23 at the NEWA Futures Tournament held at Western New England University.

Springfield trailed 8-7 after the first four bouts before Lucien Perla (Stow, Mass.) earned a 10-2 major decision at 157 to give the Pride an 11-8 edge – a lead the hosts would not relinquish. Springfield then earned three consecutive pins at 165 from Jacob Deguire (Schenectady, N.Y.) in 3:26, at 174 from Nick Rogers (Watertown, N.Y.) in 6:18 and at 184 from Myles Leonard (Waldwick, N.J.) in just 1:17 pushing Springfield's lead to 29-8.

WPI's Nicolas LeSieur defeated Olivier Parker by pinfall in 2:21 at 197 before Doug Clark (Saugus, Mass.)edged Trevor Bowen by decision at 285 to account for the 32-14 final.

Leonard added to his NCAA leading pin total and now has 21 against Division III opponents this year.
