New London, Conn. - January 31, 2026 - The Springfield College men's basketball team completed a season sweep over New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opponent Coast Guard on Saturday afternoon, 93-81.

The Pride improved to 8-12 overall and 6-5 in the NEWMAC play, while the Bears dropped to 6-13, 2-9.

Springfield had five student-athletes in double figures including Zachary Campbell  (Philadelphia, Pa.) who had a team-high 16 points and three assists. Xoren Livingston (Wayland, Mass.) had 14 points and Ajay Lopes (Wareham, Mass.) had 13 points, four rebounds and four assists. Zander Robinson (East Hartford, Conn.) had 12 points, two steals and a block as Josiah Evely (Toronto, Ontario) had 10 points and two steals, and Josh Hartley (Brooklyn, N.Y.) grabbed nine rebounds.

Springfield shot its highest mark of the season at 54.8-percent from the floor while also going 7-for-16 beyond the arc and 18-for-25 from the charity stripe. The Pride also held a 38-29 edge on rebounds, scored 42 points in the paint and turned 15 Coast Guard turnovers in 24 points.

Coast Guard scored the first seven points of the game, leaving Springfield scoreless for almost three minutes. A jumper from Campbell got the Pride on the board and powered Springfield to tie it up at 11 at 14:19. After tying it up, the Pride outscored the Bears 11-6 midway through the first half to lead 20-17.

Springfield led as many as eight at 34-26 with less than five minutes to play in the first half before Luke Farrell knocked down two free throws and Trevor Parks hit two treys to tie it at 34 with 3:27 left. Both teams continued to exchange baskets in the final few minutes of the half as the Pride took an eventual 45-44 edge into the halftime break.

The Pride took a 17-point lead at 66-49 through the first eight minutes of the half as the Pride went on a 21-5 run powered by 12 points from Robinson. Sean Harrigan (Pittsfield, Mass.) then knocked one down from beyond the arc to give Springfield it's largest lead of 19 with nine minutes to play. The Bears outscored the Pride 24-17 the rest of the half, but dominant start to the second was enough for a Springfield win, 93-81.

The Pride will host WPI on Wednesday at 7:30 pm.
