Springfield, Mass. – October 10, 2026 – The Springfield College women's soccer team fell to No. 5 MIT, 6-0, on Saturday afternoon at Brock-Affleck Field.
With the loss, the Pride drop to 3-8 overall and 2-3 in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play. The nationally ranked Engineers improve to 11-2-1 overall and 5-0-0 in conference play.
MIT jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the sixth minute, and quickly added two more in the 12th and 24th minutes respectively. The Engineers netted a fourth score with under three minutes left in the first half, and added two more scores in the second half, outshooting the Pride 25-2 on the day.
Gracie DeRing (Portland, Conn.) recorded three saves in her second career start in net for Springfield.
Micaela Tracey (Mahwah, N.J.) took over in net for the entire second half, picking up four saves.
The Pride continue NEWMAC play at home against Wheaton (Mass.) on Wednesday, October 14th.
