Springfield, Mass. - February 18, 2026 - The Springfield College men's basketball team took the win against New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opponent Clark on Wednesday night in Blake Arena, 76-72.

The Pride improves to 9-15 overall and 7-8 in the NEWMAC while Clark drops to 12-13, 7-8.

Cedric Rodriguez (Burlington, Mass.) and Zachary Campbell (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Pride with 17 points each as Campbell notched six assists and four steals. Hunter Matteson (Dartmouth, Mass.) scored 14 points and Josiah Evely (Toronto, Ontario) scored 12 points with seven rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals. John Paulino (New Bedford, Mass.) scored seven points to go along with five assists and five rebounds.

Springfield shot 49.1-percent from the floor and were 15-for-19 at the free throw line and scored 21 points off of 13 Cougar turnovers.

Malik Matanmi scored for the Cougars off the first possession before both squads were scoreless for the next three minutes. Clark took an early 6-2 lead before back-to-back treys from Paulino and Livingston gave Springfield the lead. The Cougars didn't wait long to take back the lead as they went on a 13-4 run through the first ten minutes of the half to lead 19-12.

A pull up jumper from Campbell at 7:13 sparked a commanding 24-5 run as Springfield took the lead as the team was 9-for-14 from the floor and 4-for-5 from beyond the arc. The run lasted over six minutes and held the Cougars to 12 points through the final ten minutes of the half as Springfield entered the halftime break leading 40-31.

The teams exchanged baskets through the midway of the half as the Cougars only outscored the Pride by three as Springfield still held on to the 59-53 lead. Aliaun Iscandari and Rodriguez were both on a tear through the first ten minutes each leading their teams with eight. Clark then went on to outscore the Pride by six to tie it up at 69 with less than four minutes to play. Campbell made a layup before John Boluwasefe matched it but it came down to the Pride knocking down more free throws down the stretch and a layup from Matteson with 0:23 seconds as Springfield was able to take it 76-72.

The Pride will close out the regular season with a game against Emerson in Blake Arena on Saturday at 1:00 pm
