Clearwater, Fla. – March 18, 2026 – A hat trick from
Liz Neri (Farmington, Conn.) sent the Springfield College women's lacrosse team past Farmingdale State College, 12-4, in a game played at the Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex in Clearwater, Florida.
Springfield improved to 3-3 on the season, while Farmingdale State dropped to 1-6.
Neri recorded her fourth career hat trick and first of the season to power Springfield's offense.
Izzy Lalancette (Feeding Hills, Mass.),
Sarah Newton (Colchester, Conn.) and
Julia Marsich (Carmel, N.Y.) all recorded two goals apiece in the balanced effort for the Pride. Newton also notched nine draw controls, surpassing 100 for her career. In net,
Lindsay Hillemeir (Unionville, Conn.) registered ten saves in the win for the Pride.
Carly Livingston scored the game's first goal for Farmingdale State on a free position shot before Newton finished a pass from
Claire Ognibene (New Canaan, Conn.) to even the score at one less than two minutes later. Lalancette gave Springfield the lead for good midway through the first again finishing a pass from Ognibene. Neri then potted Springfield's third goal of the first before Livingston found her second of the game making the score 3-2 in favor of the Pride after 15 minutes.
There were only three goals scored in the second all by Springfield as the Pride held a 6-2 edge at the break. Newton tallied a strike just 25 seconds into the second off a pass from
Hailey Gaydos (Newington, Conn.) before Neri and Lalancette notched goals three minutes apart to cap the scoring before halftime.
Springfield went on to score three goals in the third and three in the fourth ultimately outscoring the Rams 6-2 over the final 30 minutes of play to take the game 12-4 in Florida. In the third,
Sophie Adams (Wethersfield, Conn.) notched her first goal of the season, while the two goals for Marsich – one of which came in the third marked a career high for the sophomore.
Springfield held the edge in shots (37-21), ground balls (20-11) and draw controls (14-4). The Pride went 18-for-21 on the clear and scored once on the free position.
Springfield will return home and take on MIT on Saturday in a NEWMAC tilt at 1:00 pm from Stagg Field.
