Women's Lacrosse Wins Seventh Straight to End Regular Season

Springfield, Mass. – April 22, 2026 – The Springfield College women's lacrosse team wrapped up the regular season with an 18-4 win over Clark University on Wednesday afternoon on Stagg Field.

Springfield will enter the postseason with a record of 10-6 overall and a mark of 8-2 in NEWMAC play securing the third seed in the upcoming conference tournament. Springfield is scheduled to take on sixth-seeded Wheaton College on Saturday at noon in the first round of the playoffs.

Springfield, which has won seven straight contests dating back to April 1, was led today by Izzy Lalancette (Feeding Hills, Mass.), who finished the day with four goals, three ground balls and three draw controls. Lily Johnson (Oceanside, N.Y.) also had a stellar day with three goals and three assists for a team-best six points, while Claire Ognibene (New Canaan, Conn.) and Liz Neri (Farmington, Conn.) also both found the back of the net three times this afternoon.

Sarah Newton (Colchester, Conn.) and Erin Crowe (Beekman, N.Y.) both recorded four draw controls as they accounted for eight of 17 draws for the Pride today. Lindsay Hillemeir (Unionville, Conn.) notched four saves in the first half, while Cedar Conrad (Amherst, Mass.) wrapped up the game with three stops over the final 30 minutes of play.

As a team, Springfield held the edge in shots (35-11), ground balls (21-13), draw controls (17-8) and went a perfect 3-for-3 on free position shots. The Pride also went 18-for-21 in transition.

Johnson connected with Neri for the game's first goal less than a minute in. Springfield blanked Clark in the first and led 7-0 after 15 minutes of play. Neri made it 9-0 early int he second before Sarah Forrester scored Clark's first tally at the 12:18 mark of the quarter. Springfield went on to outscore Clark 7-3 in the middle quarters and 4-1 over the final 15 minutes en route to the 18-4 final.
