Springfield, Mass. – June 17, 2026 – The Springfield College football team and head coach Mike Cerasuolo have officially announced the program's 2026 schedule which features tough competition from both in and out of the New England region.
FULL SCHEDULE
Springfield will open the season with the 13th annual Pynchon SAW Game, which is derived from city founder William Pynchon and the acronym of "SAW" for the first initial of both schools, Springfield And Western New England on September 4 at 7:00 pm. Springfield is 6-6 all-time against the Golden Bears after Western New England defeated the Pride, 23-22 a season ago.
The Pride will then travel to Husson University on September 12 before returning home on September 19 for a return game with UW-Platteville at 12:00 pm on Stagg Field. The Pioneers finished the 2025 season ranked tenth in the D3footballl.com national poll and reached the round of 16 in last year's NCAA Championship Tournament. Springfield will then open New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play against MIT on September 26 at 3:00 pm against MIT and will enter the game as the five-time defending league champions.
A trip to Salve Regina University awaits Springfield to open October as Springfield will play four of its final six games of the 2026 slate away from Alden Street. Springfield will have its homecoming game on October 17 against WPI at noon and will host Norwich University November 7 for its annual senior day contest. The remaining games for Springfield feature road tilts at Merchant Marine on October 24, at Coast Guard on October 31 and at SUNY Maritime on November 14.
Springfield, led by NEWMAC Coach of the Year Mike Cerasuolo, is coming off a 2025 season that saw the Pride go 9-3 overall, 7-0 in conference play and win its fifth straight NEWMAC title. Springfield defeated Cortland in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Championship Tournament before bowing out to Johns Hopkins in the second round.
Springfield has won 33 straight NEWMAC games dating back to the 2022 season and since joining the conference in 2017, Springfield has gone 50-4 against league opponents (.926 winning percentage). In the same stretch, Springfield's overall record sits at 70-21 (.769 winning percentage) under Cerasuolo's leadership.
