Amherst, Mass. - September 16, 2026 - The Springfield College women's soccer team fell to Amherst, 4-0, Wednesday evening at Hitchcock Field.
The Pride fall to 1-3 overall while the Mammoths rise to 2-2.
The Mammoths opened the scoring with six minutes remaining in the first half, as Katerina Davis found the back of the net off an assist from Emma Darling. Amherst doubled its advantage at 21:59 when Jessica Lomo scored off a pass from Davis, taking a 2-0 lead going into the halftime break.
Amherst continued to apply pressure in the second half, with Lomo scoring her second goal of the evening at 57:43 off an assist from Darling before Mandy Sutton added the final goal in the 80th minute to bring the final score to 4-0.
Amherst outshot Springifeld 21-6 and held a 2-1 edge in corner kicks. In goal, Mallory Forgatch (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) made three saves in 67 minutes of action, while Micaela Tracey (Mahwah, N.J.) recorded three saves in the final 23 minutes.
The Pride return to action on Saturday as they travel to Babson Park, Mass, to take on Babson at 1:00 pm for the first New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) matchup of the season.
