Springfield, Mass. - September 29, 2026 - The Springfield College women's soccer team fell to Endicott, 2-1, on Tuesday night on Brock-Affleck Field.
The Gulls improve to 6-1-1, while the Pride drop to 2-6.
Endicott struck first when Catherine Groth found the back of the net in the opening minute, assisted by Gabi Krause before Springfield responded in the 21st minute as Katie McFerran (Selkirk, N.Y.) scored to level the match at 1-1 off a pass from Adyson Wiseman (Waterford, Conn.). Neither team could find the back of the net through the rest of the first half as they were knotted up at one.Â
Endicott ultimately regained the lead in the 79th minute when Avery Greco scored, giving the Gulls a 2-1 advantage. Springfield continued to push for an equalizer but could not find the game-tying goal in the final minutes.
Mallory Forgatch (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and Mairead Marsden (Amsterdam, N.Y.) each played 45 minutes in goal for Springfield and each recorded a save. Springfield finished the afternoon with with an 8-5 edge in shots and were even with two corner kicks each.Â
The Pride return to action on Saturday as they host Salve Regina at 4:00 pm on Brock-Affleck Field.
