Atobra Ampedu

Atobra Ampedu will enter his first season as the full-time assistant coach of the Springfield College men's soccer team in 2018. Ampedu comes to Springfield College after serving as an assistant coach with the Manhattanville College men's soccer program for the last two years.

During his time with the Valiants, the Purchase, N.Y. native earned a Master's degree in Sports Business Management, which he completed this past spring. In 2015, Ampedu also earned a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Boston College, where he was a four-year member of the men's soccer team.

Ampedu had a decorated career on the pitch for the Eagles, as he served as one of three captains for his junior and senior season. Ampedu started 46 games for Boston College in three seasons, splitting time between the midfield and back line. As a senior, Ampedu started 17 of the 21 games that he played in, and finished with six points on two goals and two assists. He also helped lead the Eagles to the Elite 8 of the NCAA Division I Championship Tournament for the second time in program history, and was one of five student-athletes in all 18 games during the 2014 season. Ampedu played his freshman season at the University of Hartford, where he earned Third-Team All-Conference honors in the America East.
